We make most rods to order based on the type of action you want and the personal identification you want to apply. Maybe it's just a name or signature, perhaps numbers down the rod to mark 15", 20", 25" or you like a certain color scheme or you want your favorite fly part of your rod.    We can get blanks from any manufacturer who sells blanks. Maybe you're a Sage, St. Croix or Winston fan.    The two rods pictured are a 9 '/ 6wt (St. Croix - Imperial blank) and a 8 1/2' / 5 wt (SAGE - VPS 4c blank) with some personal ID applied. I built that Sage years ago and use it most every time I go fishing. It's faster than average but not so quick that I cant fish 7x tippet with it. The St. Croix I use fishing from a boat especially in running water. It's a softer rod but more backbone to handle big fish in current and throwing deep drifting scuds or a sink tip stripping woolies and streamers.

   That Sage rod runs about $400 retail. Our cost for a custom built one (exact same blank) would be $375. You get the same guarantee with our custom built rods as the manufacturer of the blank guarantees. In most cases that is a lifetime warranty. Return the rod to us, we will have the manufacturer replace the blank and we will make all repairs free of charge minus shipping.
