Chartered Waters Fising Guide

Hello! I’m Brett Rader. Owner, lead guide, and fly tyer of Chartered Waters. Thank you for visiting our site and I hope we can show you this wonderful fishery known as Lake Taneycomo! Lake Taneycomo is actually the tail water of Table Rock Dam. It’s really a river and fishes more like a river than a lake. It’s flows are constant yet ever changing so adaptability is key in maintaining a good bite all day long.

Chartered waters trout shop and guide service is the premier trout fishing guide service on lake Taneycomo . We offer the most comprehensive guiding packages available on the water from wade trips, boat trips or combinations of both. If you want to catch a lot of fish and you want to catch big fish...this is where it’s at!

With our shop and home on the banks of Lake Taneycomo, we know the river intimately . We can take the most experienced fly fisher on the trip of a lifetime stalking world class fish topping 20 pounds at times! Or we can take your whole family out on a pontoon boat and just catch a bunch of fish with spinning gear. We are very versatile and dedicated in providing you a GREAT day of fishing and most importantly...the trout fishing experience you’re looking for.

On Taneycomo, the best way to catch these fish are with subsurface flies. Our fly patterns are legend on this water. You’ll find knock offs at several’ll only find the originals right here. We offer flies and fly packages for any method you plan on fishing while you’re here. Not only are these patterns good on Taneycomo...but they’ve been proven on hundreds of other trout waters across this country with incredible success. We’ve also developed techniques that allow spin fishermen to use these same flies the fly fishermen use in a very unique and extremely effective way. We’ll show you those techniques if spin fishing is your preferred technique.

We are the original guaranteed guide service...Catch Fish...Guaranteed!!!...often imitated...never duplicated...with 16 years in operation and approximately 200 trips a year...we have a 100% success rate on all our trips. You will catch fish on your trip with us...or your trip is free!
